The college thing doesn't bother me too much as he's only 7 miles away (but staying there). What bugged me yesterday, and I know it shouldn't, is when he went to get his 'adult under 21' driver's license they automatically signed him up for selective service.

You can sign up online, or at least here in MO when you get your driver's license for turning 18, they do it automatically. Sounds like there's a small window around turning 18.
