Subject: Some good to great Aly news

She left in April - the counselor at school told me to give her space. So I did. She pulled some more crap & her Dad went on a rage spree with me. I've been kinda keeping in touch via emails and Facebook, but she wouldn't see me. About a month a go she said she was coming home, I took it as "home" and she sent me an email to clarify saying not YOUR house, home at Dad's. More tears. Then about two weeks ago, I saw her near the local grocery, she hid her face, wouldn't look at me. More tears but I put my foot down.

I have been seeing her now every few days, some times were rough, but today, just the two of us, had a long conversation about everything. She starts at the Art Institute in October, she plans to come home to stay then, knowing all of my rules etc.

Thanks for all of the positive thoughts and prayers.

[> [> Thanks friends -- chezmere, 19:38:11 08/25/10 Wed [1] (adsl-75-56-209-69.dsl.lsan03.sbcglobal.net/75.56.209.69)

Today, Aly took me over to her new college for a tour. First off, it is a private school & it is about 6 blocks away from our apartment. It is the Art Institute, & she is majoring in Film, graduating in three years with a B of S degree. Marcos went in & signed off on ALL of the paperwork, particulary the financial committments and student loan committments. My name is listed (as far as I know) only as a reference, being that I am the "other" parent. I did not sign my name to anything, so, I will never be liable for any of the financial committments.

We have watched them build the building from an empty lot up - it is gorgeous. The class sizes are about 20 students. Everything inside is brand new - some areas yet to be finished. Music & theatre are not arts included, but with Aly being in the Film dept, her past acting experience will really come in handy, being they start shooting their first film day one.

The culinary arts (besides graphic arts & fashion) are a program, soon, these students will cook for the public, right on the campus & I intend to partake.

Thanks for all of the prayers ... Aly is sure getting to a better place.
