Subject: So sorry about Holly!
In reply to: rachel 's message, "life throws ya curves" on 18:23:55 04/24/06 Mon

I am so so sorry to hear about Holly, But the good part is you did get to say good bye to her and you were the one with her when she crossed over. She knows that she went in the arms of someone who loved her and she loved back! Don't ever forget how special thatpart is!

Rachel, we all do have one horse, but that doesn't mean another won't be just as special in another way. When I was in college this girl had to sell her horse IMMEDIATELY! His name was Spice and he was trained not just for Cutting but also for - Oh, the english style, you know w/ jumping and prancing etc - for some reason that word never does stay in my mind - I think I just think its not very useful, while evetything western started as a useful ranching need - anyway. I have never seen a horse so beatiful or well trained.

He was only 4 years old and I was the only Freshman allowed to ride him because I have a light hand and he was a bit mouth shy - so the night before I was going to buy him someone stole him! Thants right - they came over the fence and jumped him bareback over THREE 5' fences! They never found who stole him! I was barely 17 when it happened and I never even got a picture of him, but I can still see him in my mind.

Every horseman has a story, you just hold tight to your holly in your mind and maybe your Mom will let you do some extra stuff to help her out to make the show money! Everything happens for a reason - even though sometimes we never do figure the reason out, most times we do. Hopefully this is one of those times you will figure out the reason.

My first thought when something like this happens is "what am I supposed to learn from this?" It is a better way to look at life than "why me" - to know that you can learn from everything that happens - sometimes it is just hard to remember that. Keep your chin up, you might fing another horse one day with Holl's spirit! Ask Sienna to tell you about Chief - if he wasn't so young I would swear he was "my" Chief - same cussed behavior and habit of trying to bite girls butts! REALLY! GREAT BIG HUGS!!! ♥ ♥ F
