2) O Mercado Comum Europeu oferece aos europeus a possibilidade de viver e trabalhar em qualquer dos quinze paíse membros, mas eles encontram a barreira da língua. Embora o debate sobre como vencer a barreira lingüística seja recorrente entre os ministros, eles não conseguiram ainda chegar a um concenso, e o problema permanece.

3) O inglês porque é a língua dos negócios, da internet, a língua dominante no momento atual. O francês para adquirir melhores conhecimentos literários, o alemão por causa da filosofia e o chinês porque, muito provavelmente, será a língua dominante em um futuro próximo.
