1. Ask the director to make the 2 extra x's a different color so you can tell your dd not to go to those color x's.
2. Start now practicing at home with 6 x's.
3. Go on stage with her. Modeling doesn't count in that age group anyway.
4. Get there early enough for her to run through it and make it a point to point out the x's she is not supposed to go to. If she is smart enough and confident enough to walk the front T by herself, she is smart enough to comprehend not going to a certain x if you remind her right before. Before competition, point to those 2 front side x's and tell her they are HOT and she doesn't want to touch them LOL.
5. Don't go.

I hope this helps you. Basically, I believe the decision has been made. Complaining isn't going to make them change it now. It is too late for that. Some people like the idea of having a choice.
