In these few years of experience as a student teacher, I agree that students should be motivated and excited in order to have a meaningful learning. Why? Because they will be expecting your time to give time to give the class, and they will receive the class with joy.
One activity for motivating and learning at the same time: " Fly Swater".
Material:
- Content (perfect activity for nouns, pronouns, verbs)
-Flies drawn in a paper
-2 Fly swaters

Procedure: Divide the class into two teams. Each team will choose a student to pass to compete. Each student will grab a fly swater and they will go to the back. The teacher will say a word and the students have to run to the board where the flies will be pasted and hit the fly containing the word realted to what the teacher said.
The group with most points will be the winner.

I have dond this activity many times in my classes and every time the students enjoy it.
