It is a place of immense beauty, what might seem harsh and forlorn in the winter is transformed into a breathtaking oasis in the summer. When the cool autumn breeze blows across the land telling all who open up their ears and listen to it that winter is fast approaching the food begins to become scarce and the horses residing here are forced to take shelter in the caves that jut out from the cliff side. This is Frozen Tundra, a place that can seem both safe and dangerous, peaceful and bitter all at once. A shockingly beautiful chestnut mare canters up to you, silky black mane flowing out behind her as she runs. When she approaches you she says, "Welcome stranger to Frozen Tundra I am Moonlight Sonata, Moonie for short I hope you enjoy your stay here as I know you will, do not be afraid to be yourself here, open your heart up completely and you will find friendship and love here. Please feel free to come to me if you are in trouble, or even if you just need someone to talk to if you let me I will be more than your leader, I will be your friend." She holds her head high, soft brown eyes staring at you intently then she turns and motions for her son to come forward. He is a handsome colt strong in build and black as the starless night sky. He smiles at you, but does not speak. "Moonstone, the destined Alpha stallion of this herd and territory he like everyone else here will make you feel most welcome....I hope." She nuzzles her son affectionately then looks ack up at you, but it is a frown that you see and not a smile. "Frozen Tundra has a past, a past that is as old as the sun itself perhaps if you stay here long enough you will find out what it is." You return her frown with a bewildered stare then smile at the colt standing beside her, you turn your head around and take in the marvellous site around you. A bubbling brook is a flow with all types of fish from large juicy salmon to tiny minnows; the water is cool and refreshing just right for wading into on a hot summer day. Surrounding the meadow is a forest of tall oak trees, branches reaching up and towering above providing shade for all those who are searching for a place to rest their weary feet. Birds chirp their melodious songs in the cloudless blue sky overhead; the sound of laughter reaches your ears and you laugh openly feeling uite at home here. A group of young foals are playing gams such as hide and go seek, follow the leader and tag; mares are clustered together talking while at the same time keeping a watchful eye on their children and stallions go about their daily lives. It is summer now, but the atmopshere is not always as it may now appear to be. When winter comes the horses living here will have to fight for their survival, all together Frozen Tundra is beautiful, but beauty and even love can often be double crossed and deadly.
