She was unnaturally quiet right now, with no real comments at all. Her eyes held something of a dreadful sadness and pain that wouldn't go away when she was here. She calmly takes the brush from Owen and begins to move it over the golden hide of the gelding. She swallows a bit, thinking out how many times she'd seen this done to the old boy. After giving the animal a once over and picking his hooves she steps into the tack room to get her brother's western saddle and Dusty's bridle. She tacks up the horse with ease, her hands knowing what to do before her brain processes it. She looks towards him and hands him the reins before going to groom and tack Gold up with the kangaroo leather exercise saddle she'd inherited from a long lost uncle or grandparent. She turns her head to look at Owen as she slides the bridle leather into the last keeper, "He's a big sweetie and will do whatever you ask.."
That was for sure, Ross'd still be here if he'd been riding Dusty. The woman-turned-girl leads the golden animal out into the sunshine with more ease than Micheal Jordan shotting a free throw. She pulls her stirrups down and lifts the reins over Gold's head, though she goes to give Owen a leg up before she vaults her tiny frame from the ground and up onto the seventeen hand thoroughbred's back. She takes up the reins with delightfully light hands as her feet find the stirrups, her calves applying pressure as she clucks, "C'mon darlin.." She doesn't specify who she's talking to.
