Subject: I agree completely, my daughter just turned four, and yes, she has a fall and a wiglet, but no eyelashes (hers are long enough), no fake teeth or anything else. Then there's the subject of applying makeup, then upgrading to making her look like a hooker. I mean seriously!! I mainly use my daughter's falls for pictures for curly and stuff, but she has done this enough and knows that makeup and dressiness are for the pageants only.....I completely agree. If they leave makeup on their daughters, they're basically flaunting it and there are too many people out there just hunting for another JonBenet, ya know?
In reply to: 's message, "Great board!! I'd love to see a discussion about what people think about children who have fake hair, nails, teeth, eyelashes, etc. I know it can be a touchy subject, but there are so many mothers who want to put there daughters in, but they have alot to measure up to when they see all different girls in the pageants these days....Opinions, please???? :-)" on 15:44:32 05/09/06 Tue

It is the same with her My Scene and Bratz dolls-I am constantly telling her that they do not represent general society-"real" women look nothing like these anorexic, big lipped dolls. Hopefully this will sink in with her! It certainly did with me when I was younger. -- No name, 20:34:50 05/09/06 Tue [1]
