Subject: We were at a pageant last year, girls in line up all admiring and touching each others dresses - one girl yelled at another for touching her, made the other almost cry. She was the rudest little thing I've ever had the displeasure of watching. Made me sad to see her win, her personality was so rotten - you know she had to learn that behavior somewhere
In reply to: 's message, "Right now I think I'm a good mom whose daughter loves the pageants. I love her au natural. Yes, I did have her photos retouched, for kicks only. What I can't believe is what some mothers will go through to make themselves so hated! I'm serious! I was at a pageant (won't say which one) back in April and my daughter was yelled at by another mother because she sat down on her child's freaking shoe. My girl was so upset she burst into tears right there. I held my composure, and when the pageant was done I calmly walked out and hugged my girl for doing an excellent job. I don't lower myself like some mothers do. If she doesn't win, it's okay, as long as she had fun, that was all that matters. No matter how young they are, it's like a monkey see-monkey do, If you act like a conceited brat with an attitude, that's exactly what you're going to raise. I hope I never have to meet any of these mothers face to face. It's not just opinionated people, they're just downright nasty." on 21:22:48 05/11/06 Thu

[> I know exactly what you mean, it's pathetic!! And you know where most of these girls get it, from the mothers!!!!! Not to "bash" anyone, but it's like any sport, any clique, it starts with the parents and rubs off on the kids. I teach my daughter to make friends with the girls, she takes crayons and coloring books and games and lets her "friends" color with her. Don't let the mothers make the pageant experience a horrible thing!!! :-) -- No name, 15:35:24 05/14/06 Sun [1]
