嗯﹐腦處理訊息係靠synaptic firing(神經末稍信號傳達)﹐其實同腦容量(你所講腦收縮/死亡)無關(女人腦袋一般比男人少但絕對唔代表佢地IQ低D)﹐個firing pattern/firing frequency控制你點諗o野同諗乜o野...至於人腦係點樣運作科學界只係知道呢度﹐同埋做brain mapping(即腦區﹐邊區負責做乜工作﹐損毀後有某D brain function會出問題)等等。

精神病其實有好多個theory...其中一個就係synaptic dysfunction(神經末稍信號傳達出問題)。另外一套theoroy係傳導物質方面出問題(如太多/太少dopamine/5- HT/adrenaline as neurotransmitter)﹐第三套係傳導pathway出問題(如chorea)...所以精神病醫治都係頭痛醫頭方式點對點針對性治療。到目前為止絕大部份都唔會引起腦組織損毀(但要留意精神病藥副作用可以係對傳導物質方面過份抑制﹐如用o黎醫治精神分裂主要係控制過量dopamine釋出﹐但同時會引發類似柏金遜症問題)

另外一本作者叫Puri﹐係劍橋大學醫科畢業+教書....我讀psychiatry時用過佢本書但唔記得名...佢有兩本書一本係齋psychiatry另一本主要講neuropsychiatry.
