如果係大量吞食acetaminophen會引起急性藥物性肝炎﹐演變到肝衰竭/壞死。過程可以係幾日內任何時間發生(病發之前亦可以毫無徵兆一切正常)。初初會有黃疸﹐右上腹部腫脹疼痛等跡象﹐後來會演變成神志不清﹐同有嚴重內出血傾向(包括重要器官如腦部﹐消化道同肺/氣管--->血痰)如果唔醫治最終好大機會會死亡。所以要救治一定要掌握吞食份量同時間﹐由食解毒劑到換肝都會係考慮之列(每個急症室都有套應付服用過量acetaminophen指引)。

我地呢邊有鑒acetaminophen有潛在危險﹐規定唔可以一次賣多過12粒。
