父親儘管帶菌但受精一刻唔會將乙肝傳俾胚胎。母傳子方面﹐有一個醫學研究(2002年刺血針)顯示BB出生後首年從帶菌母親處得到乙型肝炎為90%。(注意﹕所有乙肝帶菌者都會產生抗體﹐你用抗體一字其實冇實質意思)

但香港自90年代起即為所有出生嬰兒注射防疫針。因為只執行了10幾年﹐成效如何仲未公報。但應該可以減低BB患上乙肝機會。乙肝有分急性與慢性。BB感染後多數會變長慢性﹐比較麻煩因為大多會演變為肝硬化-->肝癌。急性多見於成人﹐多數會痊癒+終身免疫﹐而且大多唔會演變為肝硬化-->肝癌
