It is uncommon to get neuritis or inflammation of the nerve in the head, but if you had one it's usually the 5th nerve (e.g. trigeminal neuralgia) which has its characteristic distribution that is not "intracranial".. and inflammation of arteries (e.g. giant cell arteritis/temporal arteritis)... all of these abnormalities (blood vessels and nerve) usually present in young, obese women and in the old age (but cannot rule out the occurrence in young male entirely, just very very rare)... an even more rare diseases in Hong Kong is multiple sclerosis which presents (usually) with optic neuritis, but chances of you born in HK to have MS is ~0%

If your doctor cannot find out the cause of your headache he will make referral to neurologists, who will look into other (often more atypical) causes and treat accordingly.

Hope this helps; and hope your headache goes away! :-)
