The land of the Elements was no secret. Those who lived here before are not phased by ghost stories from Necromancer or Andürien's reign. They would remember the realms of each Element, the tears and the laughter dancing from sea to mountain to valley. The Stone is but a passing whisper; vague, invisible as the pieces of it that lay splintered across the lands. But what they do not know is that their absence silently changed it, and destroyed the corruption it believed to still live. Water, Earth, Fire, and Air lay in ruins deep within the entrails of the earth, clenching the Stones they find to have far less power than before. But the Stones refused to become idle, and even in their broken state, ebbed indefinitely beneath the surface...
IT HAS BEEN 3 years since the fall of the Elements, though some would say it was sooner than that. The shattered pieces of the Stone are but a memory ebbing through the lightless shadows, with all the allure and indifference of the moon. But dawn breaks, and restlessness shivers along the ridge of the horizon, bringing with it the whispers of daybreak that demand its presence. Come back to us, they breathe, for the land lives again! |
