Subject: A Welcome From Your Hostess!

Hi! I'm Debra, your hostess. Like most Pentecostal or Baptist kids growing up in a rural area, and who could half-way carry a tune, I loved Southern Gospel Music. My mother and her sisters traveled and sang in the area for years, so it was somewhat of a way of life. There's a joy and a warmth in it that you find no where else. That's the way it is when you sing about Jesus!

The music has changed over the years (thankfully, the Lord hasn't!). Some of the changes are good, some are disturbing. I've commented on the disturbing stuff on other boards, and it seems everybody's scared to death if you say anything remotely negative. And they become terrified if you get what they call 'too spiritual'(???). So I set up my own little forum. Feel free to express your opinions, likes, dislikes regarding groups, music, trends in the industry or the Church. I do have some boudaries, however. No profanity or filthy talk. I just want to have some good, interesting discussions. I'd like to see if this feeling I have of being all alone on a desert island with my strong opinions is true or not!

I hope we can get to know each other, make some new friends, and fellowship in Christ. Have fun!

Debra
