How the heck do you think Derek made it going to college? Recently, I returned to college, and it is hard enough to go when you are older than most of the kids, but he was also a celebrity! I can't imagine, but what courage he showed in doing it. I love these boards! I need something light-hearted to replace anxiety about finals! Have a great day, everyone!

[> Subject: I can relate, Bella. I returned to college as a "Non Traditional" student and during part of my time there was pregnant w/ daughter #2. (try fitting in those stupid desks when 9 mos. pregnant!) Verrrrry different going back as an adult - but I really do believe you appreciate it much more. Definitely took guts from Mr.L - you're right! Inspirational though, huh? What are you studying?

[> Subject: I finished my degree a couple of years ago, too, but I did my classes online through the university. I loved it -- no commute, no listening to lectures (I learn better by reading than by listening). Most of the online students were adults, so it was nice for comaraderie, also. Good luck on finals!

[> Subject: I just want to share something w/ you all: Today I sat on The Advisory Committee for my alma mater to help the Recreation Program get accredited by the national association. This is the program I graduated from and I was absolutely floored that 13 years later, I was asked to return as a recreation professional and do this - it was quite an honor. A very interesting process . It was great meeting w/ other past graduates from the program - and seeing old professors. It was so cool and has really made me want to give back and get involved w/ my old school!

I am studying education, and yes, this is finals week. My biology final is the one that worries me, but in two weeks, this will all be over! Yea!!

[> Subject: Yes, I live close. Western Michigan University is about 20 + miles from me. It's in Kalamazoo (yes, there really is a Kalamazoo). I work in K-zoo at a different college, so it's kinda cool. Where's Tanya? Wonder how her daughter's doing in finals?
