  • Basically my thoughts are the same as Peggy's and Lynne's. It sort of summed up Lymond's state of mind, that he was as solitary and intimidating as a lone castle, strong and powerful and surrounded by a protective wall (or moat) that kept him safely removed from everyone else who meant anything to him in his life, and kept them at a safe distance from the monster he perceives himself to be.
