Why should I contribute?   Why should I make a VoyUser account?

It is your option to contribute, but to those who do contribute we are offering the option of reserving your Username before anyone else can take it. Along with your username, VoyUser accounts have many features for you, and we are adding more as you read this. The VoyUser account is and will increasingly become and integral part of the service--including the option of preventing other visitors from using your name, the editing of posts, etc. Read on for more.

How much to contribute?

That's up to you, but even $5 is fine, and $30 or more is better, or anything you feel you wish to offer--it is your choice, we keep it private--and we give you an account regardless. Of course, the more you contribute, the more it will cover expenses and allow us to improve the service by getting more servers, bandwidth, etc.

VoyForums has been running since 1998 and has been free--supported by its owners and staff, countless thousands of hours of time in ideas, programming, debugging, and it has been paid for out of our own pockets. While a bit of our costs have been covered by banner-ads, they have covered costs decreasingly since the collapse of the dot coms and the banner ad industry.

Though the forums are varied; school, entertainment, family, politics, religion, they have created bonds and communities, created families real or virtual. Though we may just be a conduit to facilitate these bonds, we realize that our existence affects a great many people--we've even saved a life or more we're told. So we are now allowing you, the people who use VoyForums, to contribute to keep it running.
