Subject: Queen's Play

Hi there, I am on my second read of LC and was wondering about Margaret Erskine's role in QP. She was there to protect Queen Mary, but what was her purpose in relation to Lymond? I feel like sometimes she was jealous, sometimes she was the exasperated sister and sometimes she was the nurse. Any insights into this character?

I loved Margaret Erskine and wish we'd heard more of her in later books- it was so sad that Tom died before they had a chance to really be together. Being one of the queen's ladies was one of those honors you really hated to get! Bu I liked how the Erskine's both came to really see who Lymond was and admire him. I am about to start DK and am dreading his death. Tom especially is one of my favorite characters because of his role in GoK. How he overcame strong emotions regarding Christian in order to see justice served in Lymonds case. He was willing to risk his life for the boy who had just caused him so much pain.
