Subject: A Special 19th Birthday

I celebrated my birthday at th Electric Eel in 1974. Sam Neely was playing there with "Buddy" Collard at the time. Sam came over & visited with me & my friends at my table. I asked for his autograph, which he gave me on a napkin. I have kept that napkin for 32 yrs. I pulled it out again upon hearing of his death. What says alot about him was his salutation on the autograph. After his message saying that he hoped I was having a good time on my birthday, rather than merely signing it "Sam Neely", he signed it, "Your friend, Sam Neely". He had such a great spirit about him and gave his friendship freely & without reservation. I'll never fortet that night or him. God bless his family
