The 2007 Mrs. Florida Scholarship Pageant will be held at 3:00 P.M. on November 17, 2007, at the Chapin Theater located in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Doors open at 2:30 P.M., and advance tickets are available for $20.00 via internet at www.floridascholarshippageant.com or via telephone by contacting Linnea Maloney at (407) 506-2774. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the event at the door for $25.00.

Participation in the Mrs. Florida Scholarship Pageant is open to any married female of sound moral character who is at least eighteen (18) years of age and who has maintained continuous residency within the State of Florida for at least six (6) months preceding the event (residency at a military base located within the State of Florida is also acceptable). Pageant contestants will be judged in four (4) categories including personal interview, overall beauty, a swimsuit competition, and an evening gown competition. Each category will comprise twenty-five percent (25%) of the contestant’s total score. Mrs. Florida’s prize will include an array of items and gift certificates valued at over $15,000.00. In addition, Mrs. Florida will receive an educational scholarship for advancement of her or her designee’s educational goals in the amount of $1000.00. Additional awards will be presented to Mrs. Fitness (Swimsuit Award) and Mrs. Congeniality.

The Mrs. Florida Scholarship Pageant is produced by T.L.C. Entertainment II, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation currently pursuing Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. T.L.C. Entertainment II, Inc., was organized exclusively for educational and/or charitable purposes. Specifically, T.L.C. Entertainment II, Inc. sponsors and coordinates the Mrs. Florida Scholarship Pageant to generate, via corporate donations and sponsorship fees, funds to reward the pageant winner with a minimum $1,000.00 scholarship to the college or university of the pageant winner’s choice to advance her educational goals. The winning contestant is entitled to forego use of the scholarship for advancement of her own educational goals and may instead elect to use the scholarship for some other individual’s educational advancement or as a tax exempt donation to an educational institution of her choosing. The scholarship award for winning contestants shall increase as the amount of funds available increases. Eventually, the winning contestant or her designee shall be awarded a four (4) year scholarship to an accredited state college or university, and lesser scholarships shall be awarded to other event contestants.

NATIONAL PRESS RELEASE

Where have all the scholarship pageants gone? Until now, no event in the State of Florida has provided scholarships for continuing education to married pageant participants. T.L.C. Entertainment II, Inc. is poised to fill that void. Under the direction of its dynamic founder, Linnea Maloney, T.L.C. Entertainment II, Inc. will host the first ever Mrs. Florida Scholarship Pageant at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on November 17, 2007.

Mrs. Maloney’s extensive background in pageantry began in 1988 when she was crowned Miss New York USA. In the 19+ years since winning that title, Mrs. Maloney has devoted countless hours to learning every aspect of pageantry and pageantry production, including working within every major television pageant system from Miss to Mrs. America. With this strong resume in hand, Mrs. Maloney is prepared to embark on her most ambitious and personal quest to date: to establish a national pageant event for married women which incorporates both the traditional pageant elements as well as an educational and charitable component. States Maloney:

"I love working with married women the most; learning about their families, their lives, their dreams. Just because a woman marries doesn't mean she should abandon the dream of participating in a pageant. In my role as Executive Director of numerous pageants throughout the past ten years, I always felt there was something missing from the standard beauty pageant experience. Sure, beauty will always be an element of pageantry, but there is so much more that pageant contestants desire beyond the standard prize package."

Maloney’s goal, to establish a pageant for future generations, embraces the dynamic of modern married women: women who take pride in their physical appearance, who seek to raise money for charity through a platform, who seek to raise their self esteem, and most importantly, who seek the opportunity to earn scholarship money to advance their own educational goals or the educational goals of some chosen designee.

The Mrs. Florida Scholarship Pageant is produced by T.L.C. Entertainment II, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation currently pursuing Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
