Sankyo, Daiichi Pharmaceutical to Establish Joint Healthcare Business Company

Tokyo, Nov 28, 2005 (JCN) - Daiichi Sankyo announced on November 25 that its wholly owned subsidiaries Sankyo and Daiichi Pharmaceutical have agreed to establish a new company, Daiichi Sankyo Healthcare Co., Ltd., as of December 15.

The two subsidiaries will sign a business transfer agreement on December 22 to transfer their respective healthcare operation to Daiichi Sankyo Healthcare, which will undertake their operations beginning in April 2006.

To be initially capitalized at 10 million yen ($840,000), the new company will increase its capital after the business transfer is completed.
