以黃大仙區為例：
今年小六約有5,000學生，按比例其中應有1,650名為第一組別學生。以一所英中五班中一最少收85%學生為第一組別計算，即最少要收到170名第一組別學生。因此，縱使全部配對正確，也只夠供應10所英中。（但一所受歡迎的英中，絕對不會只有85%第一組別學生；而強勢中中亦有可能收到70-80%的第一組別學生；而沙田區因學生不夠，故沙田區英中會吸納部分本區的第一組別學生。）

七年後，小六學生約有1,700人，請大家按剛纔的算式試算，便知我們黃大仙區的情況。

資料補充：08年開始，英中須收到85%能以英語學習的同學纔能保有英中的地位，而能以英語學習和第一組別本是兩個概念，但我們一般會統一看待，以方便計算。2015年的小六生人口會回升，但升幅不會回升至目前的水平。另外一個變數是國內有多少學生輸入香港，是另一個很大的變數。

我留言的重點是：1.準備；2.自強。而所有讀中國歷史的人都知道，黨爭是朝代覆亡的其中一個重要原因。

2007/08 預計小六人數為80,321人。（按今年就讀小六學生計算）
2008/09 預計小六人數為75,751人。（按今年就讀小五學生計算）
2009/10 預計小六人數為71,636人。（按今年就讀小四學生計算）
2010/11 預計小六人數為63,877人。（按今年就讀小三學生計算）
2011/12 預計小六人數為58,976人。（按今年就讀小二學生計算）
2012/13 預計小六人數為59,955人。（按今年就讀小一學生計算）
