Subject: Jans Vanderveght or just Vanderveght family info

MY grandfather Jans Simon Vanderveght came to Ameroica on the U.S.S. Carpathia in 1907 with his siblings Wilhemina,Dirk,and two others they were sponsored by a Nicolas Schang family from Alsace Lorraine then Germany he was said to have been born in Amsterdam. It has also been said his parents were killed by the Nazis but isnt that a little ahead of that time in 1907 there was the Boer War wasn't it? If anyone know anything about this man oh his name in America was Walter. For some reason they came at different times as well he never spoke of any of his family or parents at all WHY? My mother is his daughter Annalee Vanderveght she is 82 and I'm doing this for her tthank you, Sherry
