She KNOWS.... the woman on the plane knows.. There could have been a million reasons why she knows too. Madeline's character could have called the "carpet cleaning" number and told them about the person with the virus. OR, the shooting made history...or at least the papers, etc... Also, the OTHER guy from the future was there and saw it.. It does not matter.. what matters is... the people in the future FINALLY learned WHO the person was and so, the woman from the future went into the past and found the guy. It was "INSURANCE".

I LOVE the movie and I especially love the ending.
