To me the idea of taking drugs for any reason besides medical is unexcusable. It is well known that every city has its "druggies", and it is a sad fact when your city becomes judged by that fact. It causes all the great things to be overlooked for the few bad things that happen.

As for the people who take them, I do not see how it is a real "escape". When you take drugs you become addicted. This causes you to have to spend more money to purchase these drugs when money is usually the problem that people are trying to escape. To do drugs just because your friends are is an even worse idea.

I hear all these excuses of how "they didnt mean to" or "it was only one time", but regardless if it was your first time or your hundreth time, you are doing damage to your body and creating a false reality or you are just laying back and not doing anything because you cant comprehend what is happening.

I have heard the other arguements of how they can help you focus and some people claim to do better while on drugs, but if this was so true why would it be shunned by doctors and society? It is a question that can be argued in many different ways that just does not have a real point in addressing because no matter what is resolved in the end, people will still find ways to procure these illegal drugs.

To me, it is a waste of time for people to use, but again since this is a "free" country, there is no real way to control what a person chooses to do behind closed doors. So my advice is to avoid drugs, and even if you are surrouned by them, live all around them, that dont mean you still have to use them just because others tell you to. Everyone has the strength to just say no.
