Date Posted: 19:15:45 10/28/06 Sat In reply to: Mark Tirpak 's message, "Affordable Housing / Homelessness Resources" on 08:17:23 10/06/06 Fri This relates to increase in anti-homeless laws sweeping the nation (including Austin) based on TMP rulings. The book, The Right to the City by Don Mitchell, a required text of GRG 396 American Space and Place, a graduate-level geography course offered this Fall, documents this trend. For more information, about new laws targeting homeless feeding in public spaces, visit http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_4478348 and http://www.foodnotbombs.net/fnb_resists.html Note that Food not Bombs has an active Austin chapter, and it is one of the groups listed as being on the FBI Central Texas' "terrorist watch list" - in a controversial FBI presentation to a UT Law class last Spring.
