Several people have mentioned slight problems with the P.A. recently and I'd like to clear this up.

Fundamentally, the new P.A. is better, more controlled, more robust, clearer and louder than the old P.A.

We have had a couple of weird problems that surfaced however which have affected its performance.

1. People stacking equipment in front of the amps, which means they can't ventilate properly; this means that they reduce their output to try to cool down and the sound is altered. This is a minor problem compared to the next one...

2. We had been experiencing several strange phenomena with the P.A. which were almost impossible to figure out as they changed from time to time and didn't seem to add up. This has now been traced to a fault in the crossover which will hopefully be remedied this week.

For those not familiar with what a crossover does, put simply, it splits the sound into 'bands' which are then sent to different amps. (bass, middle, treble etc...) Our crossover also controls the EQ, compression and limiters over the whole system. Either a hardware or software fault caused this system to become corrupt and continue to knacker itself over time.

Normal service will be resumed soon! :-)
