dear dr pat von trapp

i seem to have a problem talking to girls. if i am in a club or at the square and i see someone i like i am just too scared to speak to them.
i am 24 and have never had a girlfriend. I really want to ask a girl out on a date but find i cannot do it. this is causing depression and loneliness. is this a psychological problem? I am so depressed. what can I do?
