Subject: BSL

I have been reading quite a few of the posts concerning "pit bulls" and BSL. The "pit bull" is not a breed. It is a type that people have tacked on to any dog resembling an American Pit Bull Terrier. The APBT is a wonderful, family oriented dog. I used to believe all the media hype, and then I met Rex. Rex is a wonderful rednose APBT that won my heart with his beautiful hazel eyes. I take him everywhere. Even when there are dogs being aggressive toward him, he just sits quietly, ignoring them. He has taught me what the APBT is all about; what they were actually bred for (after all the bull baiting way back when). Petey on the Little Rascals was an APBT. And yes, some are aggressive. But these are the dogs that are bred to be so because people think they'll make great fighting dogs. A lot of them are also seriously inbred. To the people that claim to love their dogs but are willing to stick thm in a ring to fight to the death, you are just sick and twisted. You don't know what love is and I'd like to stick you in with one of those dogs to see what it feels like. I have 4 dogs: 3APBTs and a wolf/chow/belgian malinois cross. ALL of my dogs are subject to BSL, and they are all sweet, loving dogs. The problems we have are a result of poor ownership, at least in most cases. Some dogs are born aggressive, but that is a result of human interference. Humans are the cruelest creatures on earth. Let's fight dog aggression by going after the unresponsible owners and breeders, not the innocent victims: the dogs. You wanted someone to post a name so you could identify them: my name is Zabrina and I live in Berkeley County, SC and I am COMPLETELY against BSL. You should be too.
