Who / What / Where:

RadioStar Studios welcomed Michael Bland (drums - Prince) and members of Beck's band, (Roger Manning and Joey Waronker) for recording on the SugaTrip project. Roger Manning, also from the legendary Jellyfish and Moog Cookbook, played parts on Hammond B-3, acoustic grand piano and Moog Voyager. Michael Bland and Joey Waronker (also the drummer for Smashing Pumpkins, Ima Robot and R.E.M.) played the studio's Gretsche drum kit on the tracks, and used snares from Ludwig (Black Beauty) and Thumper. Sylvia Massy Shivy produced and Rich Veltrop engineered.

Madside completed their debut album for Evolution Music in RadioStarıs Studio A, located in the Weed Palace Theater in downtown Weed, California.

Rich Veltrop and Sylvia Massy Shivy finished mixes for Australian group Spiderbait on Universal.

Picket Line came screaming out of the woods to record their latest using RadioStarıs classic Neve 8038 console in Studio A.

Jazz rockers Jungkshen and Northern Californiaıs Splyt recorded tracks with Sylvia Massy Shivy producing and Rich Veltrop engineering.

Mike Fisher (Machines of Loving Grace, Amish Rakefight) did remixes using Logic Audio and ProTools for Sophie B. Hawkinsı latest WEA release "Wilderness".



Studio News:

RadioStar Studios is proud to announce the opening of Studio B, featuring a TAC Matchless console, Otari 16-track 2² recorder and ProTools 24 Mix Plus system (to compliment the Neve 8038, Studer A820 and ProTools rig in RadioStar Studio A). The B room is well stocked with classic tube
compressors, mic pres and effects, located in RadioStarıs annex at 174 Main Street, Weed, California.

Plans are being completed for the new RadioStar facility by studio designer Tim Johnson (Larrabee Sound). Plans include a new Studio A as well as a 600 seat live venue with a restaurant, bar and lounge in the old Weed Palace Theater.
