Type A Records signs Candiria and unleash the band for a July 13th Release
titled, “What Doesn’t Kill You”!

On July 13th, Type A Records, an independent recording label founded by
Producer David Bendeth (Breaking Benjamin, 40 Below Summer, Vertical
Horizon, SR 71, Elvis’s 31 Hits and more), is distributed by Red Ink and set
to release the long awaited comeback record by Candiria titled “What
Doesn’t Kill You….”

The finely crafted songs Produced and mixed by David Bendeth are assembled
in Candiria’s character - straight up heavy music, combined with elements of
experimental and progressive rock, inspired vocal melodies bringing singing
back into the music- truly creating Candiria’s signature sound that is
original and like no other

Candiria have been on hiatus for two years after a near death experience; a
touring accident where the driver of an eighteen wheeler fell asleep at the
wheel, hitting the bands van that exploded on impact, sending band and crew
flying out of the vehicle all broken and bloody. This life altering
experience is the inspiration for the new CD – What Does Not Kill You.
Drummer Kenneth Schalk explains the accident was a turning point…a real
moment that makes you step back and take a look at life; it was also the
catalyst for us as a band to reaffirm doing what we do. We were always
motivated and passionate about our music, surviving this solidified that
emotion for us to stay true and continue to do what we do.

Candiria is a gathering of five very different musicians, although Kenneth
muses, “The sum is greater than each individual part.” All true musicians
and well studied, well played in various instruments like the trumpet,
keyboard and others uncommon in heavy music. Even a few of the guys have
their feet wet in acting and appear in Jack Black’s recent Block Buster hit,
School Of Rock. Candiria you could say all delve into the arts; producing
Hip Hop and showing their works in Galleries are among other accomplishments
for the members in the band.

Type A Records founder and Album Producer David Bendeth feels, “Not many
bands could have performed such an enormous feat, and it shows in their
commitment and musical integrity. It is not too often that a band can
survive such a traumatic experience; not only stay together but, come back
to make such a great record like “What Doesn’t Kill You…” – That shows their
true veracity.

See them on tour in June and July with Twelve Tribes, Misery Signals and 36
