ON MARCH 12TH WITH THE VINES & JET

MTV2 to Premiere 2$Bill Concert Special on March 22nd at 9pm ET/6pm PT

MTV2, the 24-hour music network, will hit the road once again for the first installment of its 2$Bill Concert series in 2004 featuring performances by The Vines and Jet in New Orleans, LA. The concert will take place on Friday, March 12th at New Orleans House of Blues. Tickets for the $2 concert will go on sale Saturday, March 6th at 10am at the House of Blues Box Office at 225 Decatur Street. (Limit 2 tickets per person, 18 years of age or older. Cash only box office.) Fans in New Orleans can also win tickets by listening to 106.7 ³The End.² The 2$Bill concert with The Vines and Jet will premiere on MTV2 Monday, March 22nd at 9pm ET/6pm PT.

Also, for the first time ever MTV2 is partnering with Infinity Radio across the country for an exclusive promotion, giving one local winner and a guest a free trip to New Orleans for the show, attend a pre-party before the
event, and then meet and greet the bands after the concert. Participating Infinity radio stations including Philadelphia¹s WYSP, Phoenix¹s KZON, Las Vegas¹ KXTE, Cincinnati¹s WAQZ, and Columbus¹ WLVQ.

Capitol artist The Vines¹ history is a complete whirlwind -- going from four unknown music fans in Sydney recording songs to old cassettes to one of the most talked-about new bands in rock scoring a hit with lead single ³Get Free,² headlining massive festivals, landing on the cover of Rolling Stone and SPIN, and selling more than 1.5 million copies of their debut worldwide. Now The Vines are set to release their sophomore album Winning Days on March
23rd, revealing a more melodically textured set of songs than on their immensely successful debut, 2002¹s Highly Evolved. The Vines will also kick-off their ³Aussie Invasion² tour this spring featuring fellow Australian bands Jet, The Living End and Neon.

Elektra Australian foursome Jet has quickly become one of the hottest new bands in rock. Their new album Get Born has recently been certified gold, with the explosive disk providing a goldmine of multi-format hits, including the first single from the album, ³Are You Gonna Be My Girl,² which remained in the Top Five of the Modern rock charts for more than two months, and became the #2 most added song at Top 40 this week. The recently released second single, ³Cold Hard Bitch,² is already heading toward the Top Twenty
in the Modern rock format within only a couple weeks of release. Jet has just finished a sold-out tour of Japan (the album has achieved gold in the U.K. Japan and Canada) with critics around the world crediting Jet with reviving the rock genre - with none other than Newsweek magazine crowning the raucous quartet: Œrock¹s new hope.¹

MTV2 will team with Cox Communications for the New Orleans 2$Bill event, giving 5 local fans the chance to win 10 tickets a piece, limo transportation, a pre-party and a meet & greet with one or both of the bands. MTV2 can be seen locally in New Orleans on Cox Communications channel 71.

Also, fans are also invited to visit Blender.com now through March 4th to win roundtrip airfare to New Orleans and tickets to attend the 2$Bill concert event.

Presenting a series of inexpensive concerts for music fans around the country, MTV2¹s 2$Bill has attracted a diverse mix of music acts and artists including Radiohead, DMX, Linkin Park, Coldplay, The Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg, Fabolous & Clipse featuring Pharrell, The Roots, Musiq, Nas, The Strokes and more.

MTV2¹s 2$Bill concert event in New Orleans is sponsored by Verizon Wireless, Scion and U.S. Army.
