SAN FRANCISCO BASED INDIE BROKEN REKIDS TO RE-RELEASE GITS SOPHOMORE ALBUM, "ENTER: THE CONQUERING CHICKEN" ON OCTOBER 6TH WITH BONUS TRACKS, RE-MASTERED

Following the successful re-release of "Frenching The Bully" in June, Broken Rekids is re-releasing "Enter: The Conquering Chicken", originally released on C/Z Records in 1993.

"Enter: The Conquering Chicken" is the Gits second studio album; it was near completion when The Gits singer, Mia Zapata was murdered on the streets of Seattle, thus ending the band's recording career.

A cult following for the band emerged and their records became rare and collectable. Producer Jack Endino (of Nirvana and Mudhoney recording fame) re-mixed the songs, and nine bonus tracks have been added, including 2 recently found never-before heard studio tracks.

The Gits have been featured on NPR (national) recently and a feature length film documentary about Zapata and The Gits premiers this year at film festivals worldwide.

The Gits and Mia Zapata have been compared to such artists as: Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, The Clash, Billie Holiday, and The Avengers. Bands such as The Distillers, Sleater-Kinney, and The Donnas have mentioned The Gits as an influence.

"Enter: The Conquering Chicken" is considered the band's best album, and Broken Rekids re-release with bonus tracks gives people what they have been clamoring for since 1995.
