GOLDFRAPP RELEASES SECOND SINGLE, TWIST FROM BLACK CHERRY ON NOVEMBER 4th, 2003
Following a successful North American fall tour and a summer of stunning festival appearances across Europe, Japan and Australia, Goldfrapp announce the release of their second single from Black Cherry, "Twist" on November 4th, 2003 through Mute. Goldfrapp debuted "Twist" on Last Call with Carson Daly as they kicked off their North American Tour in September. "Twist" is the follow up to "Train."
"Twist" comes backed with Goldfrapp's ace new studio version of their steamy cover of "Yes Sir I Can Boogie" (big '70s disco hit for Baccara) which has had young boys across the globe sweating at the live shows plus an exclusive live version of Felt Mountain's "Deer Stop." Also featured is sick remixes of "Twist" by Jacques Lu Cont (Les Rhymes Digitales, Zoot Woman) and Dimitri Tikovoi. In the modern fashion, the CD single is enhanced with exclusive live film of "Twist" and behind the scenes at Goldfrapp's seaside summer special at Somerset House on London's Thames Riviera.
The "Twist" video was directed by Ludovic Houplain, Hervé de Crécy & François Alaux for H5 / Black Dog Films, the MTV Europe award-winning team for Royksopp's "Remind Me" video. The "Twist" video takes the viewer on a roller coaster ride through a sexed-up animated wonderland. As the car hurtles through different scenes -- tunnels, mirrors, neon lights, cutout silhouettes, graphic games with lights, water falls, shadows, legs in fishnet stockings -- our guide, Alison Goldfrapp, is always one step ahead.
Look for Goldfrapp's "Strict Machine" (also available on Black Cherry) on upcoming episodes of NBC's Miss Match, ABC's Alias and WB's Charmed. "Strict Machine" is also featured on the Charmed soundtrack, available now through Arista Associated. The "Train" video will air on MTV2's Monster Mix on October 13, 2003.
