PIEMONTEGROOVE @ Club To Club Festival
Turin, 18th November 2003 - On Friday 28th and Saturday 29th November 2003 PiemonteGroove (http://www.piemontegroove.com) will take part to the third edition of CLUB TO CLUB - International Festival of Contemporary Electronic Music, presented by Associazione Culturale Situazione Xplosiva.
A great number of the artists and djs that will perform in the Festival are involved in the PiemonteGroove project, created and coordinated by Regione Piemonte and Associazione Culturale Situazione Xplosiva to promote contemporary dance/electronic music from the Piedmont region to International and Italian stages.
They will be: Alessio Bertallot, Feel Good Productions dj's, Sergio Ricciardone (Xplosiva, Drama Society), Giorgio Valletta (Xplosiva), Lorenzo Lsp, Roger Rama, Oxtongue, Cletus, Johnson Righeira, Rollers Inc., Roberto Vernetti's Live Editing #1 project, dj Titta of General Elektrik.
CLUB TO CLUB (http://www.clubtoclub.com) consists in two days of conferences, soundtracked cocktails, video installations (held at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo) but especially in two nights of clubbing with international known djs from Italy, UK and Germany. Three club will host the event: Officine Belforte, Hiroshima Mon Amour and The Beach.
On Saturday 29th November from 5.30pm a shuttle-bus soundtracked by the music of PiemonteGroove's artists will connect the Luci D'Artista and ManifesTo events to Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.

CLUB TO CLUB will be the occasion for PiemonteGroove to collect new material from young and upcoming artists, dj's, dance/electronic producers from the Piedmont region, that will be selected for the inclusion in 2004 catalogue and compilation.
An Observatory committee will select the artists and companies giving a priority to the quality of the artistic c.v., record productions and the actual chances of helping the growth of the local electronic music scene.

PiemonteGroove http://www.piemontegroove.com is a project created and coordinated by Regione Piemonte and Associazione Culturale Situazione Xplosiva. It was conceived in September 2002 to promote contemporary dance/electronic music from the Piedmont region to the International and Italian stages. Since today the Observatory Committee chose 32 artists and 19 services: the popoluarity of the artists goes from international stage and millions of records sold, to the level of new and upcoming. Their styles go from house to drum'n'bass, from cutting edge electronic music to techno pop. For "Italian Music Awards Alice" that will be assigned on 28th November 2003 at Assago Filaforum, PiemonteGroove has nominees in two categories: Subsonica were nominated as Best Band and Eiffel 65 have been included in the list of Best Dance Artists. In 2003 PiemonteGroove took part at two of the most important international events for electronic music scene: Sonar Festival in Barcelona and Zurich's Street Parade. In January 2004 PiemonteGroove will attend Midem in Cannes.
- About Associazione Culturale Situazione Xplosiva
Since its constitution in January 2000, Associazione Culturale Situazione Xplosiva (cofounders are Sergio Ricciardone, Roberto Spallacci, Giorgio Valletta) has strongly contributed in creating a new context for the development of a recognisable contemporary electronic music culture in Piemonte and in Italy. Special attention is given to new electronic music styles, innovative communication, connections with other arts, partnerships with local governments, culture institutes and European main music realities. Ass. Cult. Situazione Xplosiva runs the weekly club project Xplosiva (every Wednesday at Magazzini Generali in Milan, and every Friday at warehouse-like club Officine Belforte in Turin in association with Ass. Cult. Barrumba) that in the past few years has introduced to its crowd artists like Jeff Mills, Felix Da Housecat, Laurent Garnier, Guy Manuel De Homem-Christo from Daft Punk, James Lavelle, Thievery Corporation, Layo & Bushwacka!, Angel Molina, Ellen Allien, Plaid, Miss Kittin, Michael Mayer, Luomo, Etienne De Crecy, Metro Area, Francois Kevorkian. Ass. Culturale Situazione Xplosiva also created in 2002 and organises every year the international festival of contemporary electronic music Club To Club in Turin.
