Steve Earle will be taking over Chicago with a series of appearances to promote the theatrical release of the concert documentary Just An American Boy, which documents life on the road during Steve's 2002 tour in support of his record, Jerusalem. The movie opens this Friday, December 5th, at the Music Box Theater (3733 N. Southport Ave.).

First, listen for an interview with Steve on 93 WXRT on Thursday, Dec. 4th. Then watch Steve on the WBBM CBS Morning News on Friday, Dec. 5th during the 6 am hour. Meet Steve at Borders (150 N State Street) on Friday, Dec. 5th at 12:30 pm. Steve will be performing live and signing copies of his new album. The first 100 people with a purchased copy of the Just An American Boy soundtrack will get a free movie poster. That night there will be a special Q&A with Steve at the Music Box following the 9:30 pm showing. Steve will be performing at the Old Town School of
Folk Music on December 6th and 7th.

On December 9th, Illinois Coalition Against the Death Penalty will be having a Q&A at the Music Box following the 9:30 showing. On hand will be the Coalition's executive director, Jane Bohman, and former Illinois Death Row inmate, Aaron Patterson. Aaron was on Death Row for 14 years after being tortured by Chicago police into allegedly confessing to a crime he did not commit. After being pardoned earlier this year, he now works on behalf of still-incarcerated wrongfully convicted defendants.
