We were there about the same week last year, we usually go in Nov. It was HOT, air temp 93, water temp 93, afternoon storms, but if that was the only time I could go the heat wouldn't stop me. Remember to drink lots of water and if you have small children don't let them stay in the sun too long. The water in the pools are even warm but still enjoyable in the evenings when it wasn't storming. Shelling was average, my nephew found a decent size horse conch, his first time at Sanibel (beginners luck).
