>Regarding the Edison Estate -- visited there about a year ago. There are different types of tours available. One is just for the lab and museum. The museum is self guided - you take as much or as little time as you like. The lab tour is guided and takes about 20 minutes. The estate and garden tour is 1-1/2 hours (it seemed like it took forever because it was a very hot day and there really wasn't anywhere to sit and rest so I wouldn't recommend it unless you are in a wheelchair). They do not let you walk around the estate houses and gardens by yourself so you have to keep up with the guide. The gardens at that time were being totally replanted due to the hurricane damage so there wasn't much to see. Things may be a lot different a year later. There is also a tour on the Edison boat launch. You are taken via shuttle bus to the marina and then out on the boat. We did a combination tour of all the above so it took up pretty much the entire day. I found it very tiring and I'm in good shape. The guides are very good and give you tons of historical information. If you are a history buff, it's great, but for me it was a bit too much to absorb and retain.
