>Don't worry about Pen Shells. Right now there aren't any around. They really aren't ever a problem as far as I am concerned. They are ugly and usually show up after stormy weather. After hurricane Charley there were a lot out in waist deep water. Believe me its nothing to think about or be concerned with.

The only shell that might be dangerous at all is the Florida Cone. In 10 years of serious shelling I have only seen 2 live ones. They can give you a sting about like a bee sting. They aren't something to worry about. We have found many unoccupied cones but I'll bet your girls don't find any live ones. I hope they do find an unoccupied one because they are colorful.

Sanibel is a lovely place with very little to worry about. About the only problems could be sun burns and no-seeums. A tiny biting bug whose bite can really itch!!
