We usually drive as far as Ginnie Springs (a couple of hours north of Tampa) and drive in on the morning of our check in, and that is not a bad drive. Of course that's on the heels of driving from Chicago to Ginnie Springs the day before. Still, if you don't mind driving, it isn't a bad drive.
