If I am not too late...

Cheeburger Cheeburger is fun for the kids ( my son's picture is on the wall ) but there are many other options as well!

The Green Flash in Captiva, while not marketed as a kids's restaurant is amazing! They even have a kid's menu with real food options ( steak, etc ) and good colouring. You can also see manatees under the docks sometimes. Take a dolphin watching cruise out of the next door marina and have an early dinner at the Green Flash - it makes for a wonderful day. Try the tuna at the Green Flash...yummmm...

My kids love the Bubbleroom and RC Otter's ( the alligator is yummy )and the Hungry Heron so we hit all those as well. I really like Timbers ( surprised at how good it was last year - much better than previous years )and the Lazy Flamingo ( a wonderful dive ).

The Tarpon bay activity center is terrific. The eco "cruise" gets a little long for the kids but their hands on tank presentations are the best ( you can do the tank presentation with out the boat trip but call ahead and reserve ).

Visit C.R.O.W. if you have a chance and see real heroes in action. This place is amazing and really making a difference for the injured wild life in Sanibel and the surrounding areas. My so nactually got to see an owl autopsy and both of my children walked away with an enriched appreciation of the value of wildlife.

Ding Darling is always fun. Their info center is great and the drive is always fun. Get your kids a bird guide and wildlife guide so they can identify the animals they see.

I would suggest the same with the shelling. Make sure you have nets and plastic bags ( doubled or tripled - those shells get heavy ) for the beach. We stay near Bowman's beach and there are always shells.

There is so much to do...my sister in law swears by the coffee at The Bean and the reggae is always good at the Jacaranda...

Have a great trip -

Angela
