Subject: Red Algae

I follow another message board and there is a lot of conversation about the red algae on Sanibel. Has anyone been on the beaches near Tarpon Beach? I will be staying at Pointe Santo the week of Thanksgiving and all of the reports that I have read has stated swimming not advisable in this area. Is the smell bad enough that we won't be able to use our gulf front lanai? Not that we don't visit some of the other beaches it makes me sick to think that we'll have to pay to park at these other beaches in order to have any beach time.
