October is usually beautiful on Sanibel. Sunshine days & cooler evenings. The island will be less crowded & restaurants easy to get into. If they close at all it is usually during the month of Septemeber. The only restaurant that I know will be closed is The Normandy at the West Wind Inn as they stop serving their Friday & Saturday evening dinners until November. As long as there is no hurricane & evacuation you will have a wonderful visit!
