Having caught a promo the other day, I became curious. Pop psychologist and control freak Phillip Calvin McGraw, aka "Dr. Phil." is looking for a new Dr. Phil Family for his syndicated program. Curious what happened to the old one, I did a little research.
Just for the record, the Dr. Phil Show is an indirect creation of reputed lesbian and wannabe radical social engineer Oprah Winfrey. Harpo Productions is credited with producing the Dr. Phil Show. "Harpo" is the reverse pronunciation of "Oprah".
To be classified as a Dr. Phil Family, both the horizontal and the vertical dynamics of the family have to be in total disarray. That means that the siblings hate each other and neither of them listens to their parents except to get what they want. Not only that, but the parents must have significant difficulties in their relationship.
The above is true of the Dr. Phil Family presented during the 2009-2010 television season. Apparently, they first appeared on the Dr. Phil Show when the oldest daughter, now in her early 20s, became pregnant at 15. Since then, this little darling has gone on to have two more children. None of the kids has the same father! At least two of the fathers have criminal records.
The oldest apparently wrecked her mother's Mercedes-Benz without significant consequences ensuing. On top of all that, her parents are raising her children because the courts won't let her have them.
Like her sister, the younger daughter reportedly has a chronic drug problem. She also has a criminal record. Yet, her stated goal in life is to become a schoolteacher!
Apparently, neither of the girls has been seriously spanked on her bare behind in recent memory, if not recorded history! This is not surprising since Dr. Phil claims: "Spanking is associated with a poorer relationship between the parent and child." As with many opponents of spanking, he says that it teaches children to hit and has no long-term benefits.
Yet, Dr. Phil has also said both girls in the Dr. Phil Family behave like spoiled divas. It seems that, at one point or the other, they verbally abused some members of his staff.
Most likely, the girls will age out of their current childish and irresponsible behavior. It is also likely that they will become as difficult as their carping and faultfinding mother is reported to be.
While spanking is not always a perfect solution, obviously neither is money and expert counseling when coupled with totally abstaining from the "applied psychology" of padding spoiled brats on their bare behinds!
