I wrote that last entry many months ago. Presently my family doesn't really even think about me drinking anymore, just like I, myself, don't.
The relationships I am enjoying with my husband and my son feel so much more fulfilling now. I believe it is because the entire household is lighter now. There is no tension from the unpredictable drinking...well... me. We are closer as a family and share more genuine laughter. We've grown in support for each other. I say that because, now that I am more able to give of myself more, emotionally, they are getting the support they need and deserve FROM me, as much as they give their support TO me.
My son, who happens to be a teen, actually enjoys spending time with me. (Yes, it's true, believe it or not.) We have a lot of fun too!
See that. Not only do I get to be sober. I get to be a better Mother for my son, and a better partner for my husband. Loads of fun!
