Subject: Verzpertillio. . . A First "Taste"

For those curious minds, who have recently been exposed to 'whisperings' of a strange language not understood by any here. . . I now will share with you the knowledge that is to be had with this. . . night language. . . this living dead tongue, this. . . Vampire language.

"solove verzpeva derom diertim uzemae param vero quez deomillio etannoe. . . ere sempus e veliroire, trazemae. . ."

"We have spoken in the shadows for over two thousand years. . . it is time to reveal our, secrets. . ."

A First "Taste"

Nouns. In the simplest sense, nouns identify people, places, objects, qualities, and ideas.

Justin found the book on his desk

In Verzpertillio, nouns are inflected to show number, gender, and case.

Number. Nouns are inflected to show number, also called the plural. The plural is denoted by adding -ae to the noun:

iluminir - vampire

iluminirae - vampires

Most Vampiric nouns end in a consonant, but if the noun ends in a vowel, only -e is added:

etanno - year

etannoe - year

Gender. The Article "the". Nouns in Verzpertillio can be defined as either only masculine, or only feminine. But some nouns can be both. The article "the" agree in gender and are normally required in conjunction with the noun:

diero sarom - the boy (masculine)

dierti fermiz - the leg (feminine)

The article "the" also agrees in number when the noun is plural by adding -m to the article:

dierom saromae - the boys

diertim fermizae - the legs

Nouns ending in -r can be either masculine or feminine. They are neutrally masculine but adding -i will change the noun into the feminine:

diero iluminir - the vampire (masculine)

dierti iluminiri - the vampire (feminine)

Some nouns for you to learn:

iluminir - vampire (lit "People of Bright Eyes")
vampir - vampire (vulgar term in Verzpertillio)
sarom - boy(masc) (no younger than 6 and no older than 25 when crossed over)
fermiz - leg(fem)
vurtomzier - sire
luzinir - human (non-vampire, lit "Day People" or "Day-farers")
sol - The Sun(masc)
nuzamzier - childe
imitar - Mimic (of Vampire Prophecy)
nozem - night(masc/irregular)

I hope, for those interested, that this is enough to quench your "thirst" for now! This is VERY VERY basic stuff. A lot of it is going to look familiar (hopefully because I'm trying to make this language relate to the other Romance languages). But going forward it's going to start getting pretty interesting, whether you know a Romance language or not! Hehehe! And check out:

to get more info on Verzpertillio! Very soon I will start posting the grammar at the Wiki in its entirety! But keep looking here for more 'lessons' and maybe some other stuff too!
