Subject: GFD Question #13 - How does Doc's laptop friend, whaever his name is (Pan), get access to so much information?

I never really went too far into Pan's character in the series, because he's never actually 'seen' throughout the whole story. But to describe him as I saw him, Pan was basically a vampire shut in, surrounded by a massive supply of computer equipment somewhere in an underground hideout. The original idea was that he was one of the very few vampires out there who never sleeps. It's rare, but in some crossovers it happens. Some vampires sleep longer than others. Some sleep much less and get up before the sun sets completely (like raiders). And others sleep very little or not at all. And since he never sleeps and is inside all da, he never knows when it's daylight outside or not. So Pan remains in a dark room with only the glow of the computer screen to illuminate the room, and he is online at all times. He's talking to humans and vampires all over the globe at all times of the day or night. Multiple conversations at once. So him having access to a huge amount of information, secrets, folklore, rumors, etcetera is natural.

Like I said, I never really went into too much detail with his character in the actual series, but you'll see more of him in the "Blood Ties" and "Exodus" chapters. This is just how I pictured him in my mind.

Ps- Pan (aka 'Webby') was also a long time friend and poster on the Shack! Very sweet guy! And no, he doesn't spend all of his time on the computer, hehehe, that's just made up for the story. And because that's how I met him. :)
