Subject: Dark Question For 1/20

In a world of darkness, where it is necessary to pray on the living, it would be difficult for even the highest ranking members in the vampire order to control 100% of the feeding going on in the streets. And that can be a bad situation when certain humans are 'business associates' that help to fund and protect the vampires' existence. Therefore, the use of 'Safeguard Marks' was a necessity.

For a rather large fee, a human can buy a mark as a for of protection from the wandering vampires in the streets. Any marked human that is fed upon by another vampire constitutes a serious crime. And the vampire involved will be dealt with swiftly and severely. Mercilessly, in fact.

The question is...do you agree with the idea of the safeguard mark? The idea that the wealthy can be guarded and free from attack, while the rest are left to fend for themselves. Some of these 'business associates' can be very nasty people. And some just happen to be wealthy enough to buy protection for themselves and their families.

If you saw a mark, and needed to feed...would you respect it? Would you be scared of the consequences? And what happens when the mark's warranty runs out...and the humans are unable to buy a new one? Any thoughts?
